We are organizations, associations, and individuals who have come together to keep the character of our local communities above out-of-state interests. Big national telecommunications companies are seeking preferential treatment and corporate handouts at the expense of Floridians. We are working to fight back in the name of our communities.
We are educating and motivating Floridians to band together and stop potentially detrimental legislation that would directly affect the character of our communities. We want to inform the public about the potentially harmful effects of SB 596 and HB 687 and encourage all Floridians to stand up to stop to this corporate take-over. We must rally together to take a stand for community character.
Through our work we hope to solidify the power of local decision making when it comes to matters directly affecting our Florida communities. We want to prevent big corporations from taking advantage of our taxpayers’ dollars and resources, and assure our residents that their communities will be protected.
Our coalition is made up of organizations whose primary focus is the well-being of local communities in Florida. These organizations are committed to advocating for city residents across the state and taking the necessary steps to improve communities. Members include:
- The Florida League of Cities
- The Florida League of Mayors
